STEERING COMMITTEE
Jane Wadden is a committed educator and a strong believer in experiential learning, especially learning in local natural environments. She holds a B.A, B.Ed and M.Sc and studied French in St Pierre et Miquelon, Quebec and France. The greater part of her teaching career was spent in Outdoor Education, hiking the trails in the Rouge Valley. As an administrator of various elementary schools in Toronto, environmental initiatives such as EcoSchools and sustainable school programs were embedded in the school’s goals and practices.
Currently retired, Jane continues to build on her knowledge and love of learning in the outdoors, disseminating her passion and understanding of ecosystems by volunteering with various organizations. She was one of the original members of Environmental Education Ontario (EEON) and is delighted to rejoin the Board. Other new partnerships such as EcoSpark and the Toronto East Rotary Club are allowing her to give back to the community through fundraising initiatives for local charities and experiences to reconnect and empower youth to take an active role in protecting their local environments.
